I look forward to helping people achieve that illustrious 3hr marathon. In the first edition of the Brighton beach marathon!

My name is Greg Watson and I am looking forward to pacing at the Brighton Beach Marathon. I have had some incredible experiences and met some great people through running. I have paced plenty of 5k and 10k races and paced friends in Half Marathons. As a Melbourne Marathon Spartan I love being involved in all types of running events and seeing the joy that runners get from working toward and then achieving their goals on race day.

I have only been running for 3 years and every event I have raced, I have lowered my PB. A large part of this is due to having great, consistent, and motivating pacers. It’s time to pay it forward. I can’t wait to help motivate and consistently pace fellow athletes achieve their goals and hopefully smash that PB!

Running on this beautiful course is a pleasure in itself - but guiding and supporting fellow runners toward their goal times makes the experience even more meaningful.

For the park runners amongst you, you may recognise me as The Big Barcode Guy. I am a veteran of over 20 marathons and several ultra marathons. I am fresh from pacing the 4:15 pace group at the Sunshine Coast Marathon earlier this month and Brighton Beach will be my second pacing experience. I am excited to be joining the Sole Motive team at Brighton Beach this year for the marathon, supporting and encouraging fellow runners in achieving their running goals. I am a strong believer running enhances mental and physical well being, with life long benefits. I see pacing as a great way to give back to the sport I love so much. For me, it is more about the journey then the destination. If I can encourage and inspire just one person, than it is all worth it, however, the more the merrier.

Stuart started running based on the experience of his father's ambition for marathons. Stuart has as of today completed 5 Marathons. Pacing is great way for me to give back to the running community and complete a marathon with a different goal in mind - to help others reach their goals.
This will be my first time pacing, and I'm excited to share this experience with you!

As a run coach and lifelong runner, I’ve tackled my share of marathons and ultras—but what drives me most is the running community. I know the highs and lows of race day, and I’m here to help you stay focused, run strong, and cross that finish line.

I love all things running and am excited to give back to the running community, while doing something I love. I’ll be there to keep things consistent and encouraging, and hopefully help you hit your goal—whether that’s a PB, a strong finish, or just getting to the end.
HALF MARATHON (21.1K)
Rory Crowley
1 hour 35 mins
Hey! My name is Rory, and I'm very excited to be pacing the 1 hour 35 minute group at the Brighton Beach Half Marathon! My aim is to help my fellow runners by setting a steady pace, providing plenty of encouragement and help along the way, and to act as a windbreak if anyone needs it! I'm really looking forward to running together, chatting to help shorten the k's, and hopefully guiding you all the way to a shiny new PB!

What started as a few runs during COVID lockdowns turned into 6 years of eventful running, with plenty of half and full marathons along the way. This will be my first pacing duty, and I’m excited to lead the 1:40 group - helping runners stay on track with steady pacing and plenty of encouragement.
Jerome Guzzo
1 hour 45 mins
I'm Jerome, a 39-year-old father of two and husband of one. I love walks on the beach and runs around Patterson River.
You'll find me most weeks at Chelsea Bicentennial parkrun, where I'm part of the event team. I love our community and I'm proud to promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
I achieved a half marathon PB of 1:25:47 last year. I've enjoyed pacing others to sub-20 5k PBs and I can't wait to run under 100 minutes with you!

First time pacing. Pacing has been a goal of mine since running my first event 3 years ago. Half Marathon is my favourite distance as it is a mix between speed and endurance. Currently training for the New York Marathon
Manon te Riele
2 hours 10 mins
Manon is an experienced half marathoner who is often accused of yapping too much whilst running.
She ran her first half marathon at the Sandy Point half marathon (the forerunner to the Brighton Beach Marathon) to celebrate her 21st birthday and has been hooked ever since.
Manon enjoys pacing her dad during long runs, now putting it into practice to help others achieve their 2:10 goals!

Hi, I’m Jenna! I’m excited to be pacing to give back to the running community and help others achieve their goals.
This is my first time pacing officially, but I’ve supported friends to their PBs before — and I love being part of someone’s race day success. Let’s run steady and finish strong together!

Hi! I'm Rachael and I'll be pacing 10km/60 minute.
I paced the 5 & 10km runs (32:30 & 65min respectively) at this years Ballarat Marathon. Pacing is a great way to take your run in the event, and volunteer at the same time. That's a win-win in my books!

I have been a Pacer at Melbourne Marathon for the last three years and also paced at Run Melbourne and Sandy Point. Nothing is more satisfying than than helping others achieve their PB and I hope to have a few runners get their PB running with me @65 minutes in the 10km at Brighton!

When I first started running, finishing a 10K in 70 minutes felt like the ultimate goal. That experience has always stayed with me; it’s where the love for running began. Since then, I’ve chased everything from a sub-1:50 half-marathon to completing full marathons. But it all truly took off when I moved to Melbourne, my favourite place to run in the world.
I’ve paced at Run Melbourne before, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. Coming back to Melbourne to pace a beginner-friendly 10K feels poetic. I hope to help others cross that first finish line, and maybe even fall a little in love with running, just like I did.
