    COURSE MAP

    The 10k will start on Beach Road at Green Point, Brighton. The 10k will complete one lap of its assigned course. Refer to the course maps below. For Google Maps, click here.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    Age Limits

    Participants must be 12 years on race day, otherwise accompanied by an adult.

     

    Start Line

    Beach Road at Green Point, Brighton

    10k Racing Wheelchair starts: 8:40am

    10k starts 8:45am

    10k start closes 9:00am

     

    Priority Start

    Male participants who run under 40min, and female participants who run under 45min qualify for a priority start.

     

    Please apply in the registration process.

     

    10K Road Cut off

    The Brighton Beach Marathon distances have a strict course (road) cut off time of 11:00am. Cut off times are enforced to ensure the roads are re-opened in accordance with the event permits.

     

    9:00am - All participants must have crossed the start line

    11:00am - Road Finish Line Closes

    12:30pm  - All participants must have crossed the Finish Line (non-AIMS-certified) within the Event Village (10km)

     

    INFORMATION FOR 2HR15MIN+ 10K RUNNERS

    There is an alternate route for those participants who will be running at a 2hr 15min+ 10k pace. Participants who are unable to run at a sub 2hr 15min+ 10k pace on race day need to be aware that they will be redirected onto the footpaths if they do not meet any of the above road cut off times. Please note that the course on the footpaths is not measured to AIMS standards which means if you do not cross the finish line on the road by 11:00am, your race will not be AIMS-certified. Runners will still receive an official time and a finisher medal.

     

    10K Wave Start Times

    8:40am - Wheelchair wave

     

    8:45am - Priority:

    This is for runners aiming to finish the race in under 40min.

     

    8:48am - Wave A:

    This is for runners aiming to finish the race between 41min-60min.

     

    8:51am - Wave B:

    This is for runners aiming to finish the race in above 61min+.

     

    9:00am - Start line closes

     

    10K Pace Groups

    40mins, 45mins, 50mins, 55mins, 60mins, 70mins

     

    Kilometre Markers

    The kilometre markers for the 10K will be coloured GREEN.

     

    Split Times

    The timing system will record the 5km split time.

     

    Toilets, First Aid Posts, Drink Stations
    Located every 2.5km on the course.

     

    Please note that FIXX Nutrition is the electrolyte supplier.

     

    FIXX Nutrition Electrolytes will be available.

    Wheelchair Information

    Racing Wheelchair: If you are a racing wheelchair, please contact timing@solemotive.com to secure your spot. The racing wheelchair wave will start approximately 5 minutes before the official 10K start – 8:40am. Please be at the start line no later than 8:20am.

     

    Non-Racing Wheelchair: Sole Motive accommodates wheelchairs in our event. If you’re not a Racing Wheelchair Athlete, please start at the back of the final wave in your event.

     

    Will there be an awards ceremony at the end of the event and how will the top 3 place getters be awarded?

    Yes, placegetters will be awarded based on gun time. If any runner wants to place in this event, they must start in the first wave. Medals will be presented to place getters from the stage post race.
