REGISTRATIONS
The following age limits apply for Carman's Fun Run:
If you register for the event before 11:59pm Thursday, 9 January 2025 and ONLY if you select postage, then your first name will be printed on your race bib.
Children under four years of age are not required to pay the entry fee, however, for safety and insurance reasons you will be required to provide details in the registration process.
Yes, Carman's Fun Run is open to everyone, it is no longer a women's only event.
Online entries will remain open until 30mins prior to each race.

You don’t have to notify Sole Motive (the organiser) if you are unable to run for any reason. However, there are no refunds for non-starters or non-finishers.
We do offer the following:
T&C #15. I agree that there are no refunds, however, I may request a credit note for other SM owned events (minus $10 for admin fees) no later than 5pm, Friday one month prior to the event date. After this date, no credit notes will be issued. Credit notes will not be issued when downgrading distances. Credit notes will be valid for SM owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Credit notes are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing.
Please note: if you have entered with an event credit we are not able to issue another event credit.
Event upgrades/downgrades can be made online up until Friday, 14 February 2025. Use this link.
Refunds/credit notes cannot be issued for the difference in entry fee (if any) when downgrading your distance.
If you change your distance then you can use your existing race bib for your new distance.
If you wish to join a team, you can do so through your registration link.
Please ensure you have checked your junk/spam folder for your confirmation email (e-ticket). If you can still not locate it, you can log viaRace Roster and choose to resend your registration email.
Yes, please click here and follow the prompts to Transfer to a new participant – this will incur a $10 transfer fee. Name Transfers end 11:59pm February 14.
Name Transfers will not be permitted on event weekend.
ON COURSE
Public and portable toilets are located at the Event Village as well as at a first aid post.Please refer to relevant distance page for on course toilet and drink station locations.
We strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course. If you do choose to use headphones while running, please ensure that you are still able to hear what is happening around you.
No personal support riders or bike riders within the vicinity of runners are permitted on course. It is the responsibility of each athlete while running to ensure that no bikes are on the course near the runners. Any transgression will result in disqualification from the event.
Prams are permitted in all events – please start at the back of your wave for safety reasons.
If you are running to lend a helping hand, to someone who is unable to participate without you, then please email an image of their companion card along with the event name to info@solemotive.com
Dogs on leads that are registered for the 5K Pink Lady Walk are welcome. They are not allowed in the Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K runs.
Racing Wheelchair:If you are in a racing wheelchair please contact timing@solemotive.com to secure your spot. The racing wheelchair wave will start approximately 10 minutes before the official Half Marathon start – at 7:00am. Please be at the start line no later than 6.45am.
Non Racing Wheelchair:Sole Motive accommodates wheelchairs in our event. If you’re not a Racing Wheelchair Athlete, please start at the back of the final wave in your event.
RACE WEEKEND
Participant Instructions will bbe available to download closer to the event day.
All events start on Head Street, south of Elsternwick Park. Please take some time to review the below wave start times to find out which wave start is most suitable for you.
Half Marathon:
6.45am - Wheelchair wave
6.50am - Wave A and Priority:
This is for priority runners (<1hr 30 min males and <1 hr 40 min females) and Wave A runners aiming to race a time under 2hrs. This wave is suitable for you if you are able to run under 6 min/km pace.
6.55am - Wave B:
This is for runners aiming to finish the race in more than 2hrs. This wave is suitable for you if you run over 6 min/km pace.
10K:
8:15am - Wheelchair wave
8.20am - Wave A and Priority:
This is for priority runners (<40 mins males and <50 min females) and Wave A runners aiming to finish the race in under 60 min
This wave is suitable for you if you are able to run under 6min/km pace.
8.25am - Wave B:
This is for runners aiming to finish the race in 61-70 mins
This wave is suitable for you if you run 6-7min/km pace.
8:30am - Wave C:
This is for runners aiming to finish the race in over 70 min
This wave is suitable for you if you run over 7min/km pace.
5K:
9:10am - Wave A and Priority:
This is for priority runners (<20mins males and <25 min females) and Wave A runners aiming to finish
the race in under 30 min
This wave is suitable for you if you are able to run under 6min/km pace.
9.15am - Wave B:
This is for runners aiming to finish the race in over 30mins
This wave is suitable for you if you run over 6min/km pace.
Pink Lady 5K Walk:
9:35am - All participants
(no separate wave starts)
All participants will receive water, electrolytes & a Carman’s bar at the finish line.
CAR
Make sure you plan your journey to arrive to the event on time. Car parks and streets often have parking machines in operation. Please read parking signs carefully.

Bike
Sole Motive will provide plenty of bike parking at the event site. Please make sure to bring your own lock to ensure your bike is secure.
Public Transport
Train
The nearest train station to the event site is Elsternwick Station (on the Sandringham line) and is just a short 10-minute walk to the event site. Please refer to Public Transport Victoria for further details and to plan your route. Given it is a Sunday and the event is early please be aware there is minimal services available.
Tram
Tram Route 67 operates from The City, (Melbourne) to Carnegie. Please refer to Public Transport Victoria for further details and to plan your route. Given it is a Sunday and the event is early please be aware there is minimal services available.

ROAD Closures:
Drivers are asked to travel at no more than 40km hr in slip lanes.
For all events, bag drop is available at the event village at Elsternwick Park.
Please do not leave valuables in your bag. Sole Motive accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Attach the tear-off strip on the bottom of your race bib to your bag. Keep your race bib so that you can collect your bag post-event.
Please note, we have cut down on single-use plastics and will not be providing plastic bags to put belongings in at the Bag Drop Marquee. Please remember to bring your own bag to the event.
We are excited to award all participants with finisher medals on the day.
Yes! We are excited to introduce pacers to Carman's Fun Run 2025! Sole Motive are fortunate enough to have experienced runners that will pace you to come in around your goal time.
For ease of visibility, the pacers will have the pace time on their bib on their back and a balloon with their pace time.
Please see the table below on the paces that are available and where the pacers can be found at the start line. They will start their watches and pace you once you have crossed the start line – this is known as net time.

Participants can meet the pace leaders at the stage area 30 minutes before the start time for their distance. The pace leaders will have a balloon attached to them with their pacing time witten on it for participants to look out for.
To carry out the pace runner role you’ll need to be able to comfortably run the pace you’ve nominated for.
You also need to be prepared to offer encouragement and motivate runners in your pack.
Sole Motive will cover the costs of entry fees for all pacers, and all pace runners will receive a free t-shirt/singlet.

RACE PACKS & T-SHIRT SIZING
There are two options to collect your race kit:
Option 1 – Postage:
If you wish to have your race pack posted to you, you must register before 11:59pm, 30 January 2025. Please note, a delivery fee of $15 for bib and t-shirt delivery.
Option 2 – Pickup:
Collection will be available from the Carman's Office (11 Hume St, Huntingdale VIC 3166) on the below days:
Thursday 13 February 7:00am – 1:30pm
Friday 14 February 12:00pm – 6:00pm
All participants who collect their race pack at Carman’s Kitchen Store will get one complimentary Carman’s product!
Plus, to add some more delight to your day – all runners, their family and friends, can enjoy 20% off all Carman’s products at the Store when they collect their kit.
2.Collection will be available from the event site (Elsternwick Park) on the following days:
Pre event: Saturday, 15 February between 10am - 4pm
Event day: Sunday, 16 February from 5:45am
RESULTS
Yes, placegetters will be awarded based on gun time rather than the adjusted time for each run (net time).
Trophies will be presented to participants post-race, approximately 30 mins after the winner of each distance finishes.
All runners in the Half-Marathon, the 10k and 5k races will be timed. If you wish to receive a finishing time all participants must wear their RACE BIB.
Your Race Bib contains a disposable timing chip, if you don’t wear your bib, you won’t receive an official time.Please wear your race bib on the front of your top and ensure it is visible.
Live tracking will be available on the day. More information will be released closer to the event.
Unofficial results are live as you cross the finish line. Official results are available online here. Please allow up until 5pm on race day for all results to appear.
Participants who have nominated to receive SMS results and have paid an additional $2 will receive two SMS messages, one as they cross the finish line and then a second text will with their official time around midday. Finishers will be able to download their certificate from the results page after the event has concluded.
Net time is the time the participant crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. This is how results are displayed on the website, and will be used to award aged category places.
These times are for participant information only and are not used to determine place getters. Placegetters are determined by gun time – the first three male and females across the finish line.
