Registrations
The following age limits apply for the Canberra Times Marathon Festival:
If you register for the event before11:59pm Thursday, 14 February 2025 your first name will be printed on your race bib. You must have selected postage to get your name on your bib.
Children under four years of age are not required to pay the entry fee, however for safety and insurance reasons you will be required to provide details in the registration process.

You can register in person at the Event Village at John Dunmore Lang Place on Friday 11 April between 2pm - 6pm, Saturday 12 April between 8am - 4pm and on the morning of the event Sunday 13 April from 5am.

You don’t have to notify Sole Motive (the organiser) if you are unable to run for any reason. However, there are no refunds for non-starters or non-finishers.
We do offer the following:
T&C #15. I agree that there are no refunds, however, I may request a credit note for other SM owned events (minus $10 for admin fees) no later than 5pm, one month prior to the event. After this date, no credit notes will be issued. Credit notes will not be issued when downgrading distances. Credit notes will be valid for SM owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Credit notes are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing.
Change of Distance:
You can change your distance online up until Friday, 11th April 2025.

Yes, please click here and follow the prompts to Transfer to a new participant – this will incur a $10 transfer fee. Name Transfers end 11:59pm April 11. Name Transfers will not be permitted on event weekend.

On Course
Public and portable toilets are located at the Event Village as well as at a first aid post. Please refer to relevant distance page for on course toilet and drink station locations.
Marathon participants are able to utilise the personal refreshment drop off. If you require personal refreshments throughout your race you can drop off your refreshments at the Info Marquee on Saturday 12 April between 8am - 2pm.

We strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course. If you do choose to use headphones while running, please ensure that you are still able to hear what is happening around you.
No personal support riders or bike riders within the vicinity of runners are permitted on course. It is the responsibility of each athlete while running to ensure that no bikes are on the course near the runners. Any transgression will result in disqualification from the event.
Prams are permitted in all events – please start at the back of your wave for safety reasons.
If you are running to lend a helping hand, to someone who is unable to participate without you, then please email an image of their companion card along with the event name to info@solemotive.com
All animals are strictly prohibited from entering any part of the course at any time. However, we welcome dogs on leads in the event village.
Racing Wheelchair: If you are in a racing wheelchair please contact timing@solemotive.com to secure your spot. The racing wheelchair wave will start approximately 10 minutes before the official start of the event.
Non Racing Wheelchair: Sole Motive accommodates wheelchairs in our event. If you’re not a Racing Wheelchair Athlete, please start at the back of the final wave in your event.
To carry out the pace leader role you’ll need to be able to comfortably run the pace you’ve nominated for.
You also need to be prepared to offer encouragement and motivate runners in your pack.
Sole Motive will cover the costs of entry fees for all pacers.

Race Packs
There are two options to collect your race kit:
Option 1 – Postage:
If you wish to have your race bib posted to you, you must register before 11:59pm, Thursday 28 March 2025. Please note, a delivery fee of $8.95 applies.
Option 2 – Pickup at the event site:
All participants can collect their Race Bib at the event site on Friday 11 April 1pm - 5:30pm and Saturday 12 April 8am - 4pm and on event day Sunday 13 April from 5am.
All merchandise ordered before 11:59 pm Thursday 27 March 2025 will be mailed out.
After this date all merchandise will be available at the event site from the Sole Motive Race Ready Store:
Friday 11 April: 2pm - 6pm
Saturday 12 April: 8am - 4pm
Sunday 13 April: from 5am.

Car Parking
Parking is limited on the morning of the event. Please allow plenty of time to find parking prior to your event start time. We strongly recommend you get dropped at the event or carpool to the event.
Public Parking is available at the following locations:

1. Friday 11th and Saturday 12th April (Race Bib Collection & EXPO)
Questacon Car Park - access via Parkes Place West and Queen Elizabeth Drive
Treasury Building Car Park - access via Langton Crescent
2. Sunday 13th April (Event Day)
Treasury Building and Langton Car Park - access via Langton Crescent – Marathon Runners only (will fill quickly)
Blackall St Car Park – access off Blackall St and/or Brisbane Ave (This is a 1.2km or 15-minute walk to the event village)
Russell Office Carpark - access off Kings Ave (This is a 2km or 20-minute walk to the event village)
If you are driving, we recommend using the Blackall or Russell Office Car Parks.
Accessible parking (Event Day)
Newlands St has 5 parking spots for accessible parking.
Sole Motive has reserved additional accessible parking in the Treasury Car Park. This is only available for those with accessible parking permits.
Entry for Treasury Car park is off Newlands St.
Please note that it is an offence under the National Land (Road Transport) Ordinance 2014 to park a vehicle on open space in the area where The Canberra Times Marathon Festival is being held. Open space is any area that is not designed for the movement or parking of motor vehicles, such as grassed areas, footpaths and landscaped areas. The National Capital Authority will be enforcing parking regulations for the duration of this event, and attendees should ensure they park legally to avoid the risk of an infringement being issued to their vehicle.
Bike
Sole Motive will provide plenty of bike parking at the event site. Please make sure to bring your own lock to ensure your bike is secure.
The best drop-off point is Commonwealth Ave opposite Albert Hall. It is then a 700m or 10 minute walk to the Event Village.

Bag drop is available in the Event Village.
Your race number features a tear-off strip for you to attach to your backpack or clothing bag. Do not leave any valuables in your bag as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.
Please note, we have cut down on single-use plastics and will not be providing plastic bags to put belongings in at the Bag Drop Marquee. Please remember to bring your own bag to the event.
The following positions are available for volunteers:
- Drink Station Assistants (Times Range in between 5:30am - 1:00pm) and the shift length on average is 5 hours

Results
Yes, finisher t-shirts will be given to marathon (42.2K) finishers only.
Yes, placegetters will be awarded based on gun time rather than the adjusted time for each run (net time). If any runner wants to place in this event, they must start in the first wave. Trophies will be presented to participants post-race, see times below:
10K - 8:15am
5.4K - 8:15am
Half Marathon - 9:30am
Marathon - 9:50am

The 2K kids event does not award placegetters, all participants will receive a medal at the completion of the event.

All runners in the Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10k, 5k and 2k kids races will be timed. If you wish to receive a finishing time all participants must wear their RACE BIB. Your Race Bib contains a disposable timing chip, if you don’t wear your bib, you won’t receive an official time.
Please wear your race bib on the front of your top and ensure it is visible.
Unofficial results are live as you cross the finish line. Official results will be available on the website Tuesday 15 April.
Participants who have nominated to receive SMS results and have paid an additional $2 will receive two SMS messages, one as they cross the finish line and then a second text with their official time around 3pm, and finishers will receive a certificate via email.
Net time is the time the participant crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. This is how results are displayed on the website, and will be used to award aged category places. These times are for participant information only and are not used to determine place getters. Placegetters are determined by gun time – the first three male and females across the finish line.
