    COVID-19

    covid-19 updates

As per the Victorian Government's latest announcement, Sunset Series 2022 has the capacity to be held on 2 February, 16 February and 2 March 2022. All staff and volunteers will be fully vaccinated and we will provide an update on the government guidelines for expectations for participations in the coming days.

What if Sunset Series does not take place on the scheduled date, for reasons relating to the COVID-19 Pandemic?

Where possible, the event will be rescheduled. If this happens, all registered athletes will be automatically transferred to the new event date.

We will provide as much notice as we can. If the new date doesn’t work for you, we will provide other options such as an Event Credit, which can be used toward any Sole Motive event.

What is Sole Motive doing to make Sunset Series a COVID-19 safe event?

    • We will have safety measures enforced at the event site, start line and finish line and toilets with visible health and safety signage and 1.5m social distancing markers.

    • Event capacities will be set in line with State Government Health Authorities. We will be implementing rolling starts to maintain social distancing requirements for each group

    • We will have hand sanitiser stations available at the race pack collection marquee, bag drop, finish line, start line precinct and first aid stations.

    • We have introduced a frequent and rigorous cleaning program across all high traffic areas including toilets, finish line, race pack collection and bag drop.

    • We will be conducting staff and volunteer health and temperature checks pre-shift to assist us in further facilitating our Sole Motive Health & Safety training program.

    • All participants will be required to sign in via the event QR code prior to entering the event location.

View all our COVID SAFE event informationhere.

What if I am unable to get to the event due to border restrictions?

Any affected participants will be offered an event credit to the value of their entry (including additional purchases).

    RESULTS

Will there be an awards ceremony at the end of the event and how will the top 3 place getters be awarded?

Yes, placegetters will be awarded based on gun time rather than the adjusted time for each run (net time).

Medals will be presented to participants post-race. Approximately 30 mins after the winner of each distance finishes.

How will I be timed on day?

All runners will be timed. If you wish to receive a finishing time all participants must wear their RACE BIB. Your Race Bib contains a disposable timing chip, if you don’t wear your bib, you won’t receive an official time.

Please wear your race bib on the front of your top and ensure it is visible.

Participants who are in the Sunset Series 3 Race Pass MUST keep the same bib for all 3 races.

Where can I find my results?

Unofficial results are live as you cross the finish line. Official results are available online from 10pm.

Participants who have nominated to receive SMS results and have paid an additional $2 will receive two SMS messages, one as they cross the finish line and then a second text will with their official time around midday, and finishers will receive a certificate via email.

    What is net time?

Net time is the time the participant crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. This is how results are displayed on the website, and will be used to award aged category places.

These times are for participant information only and are not used to determine place getters. Placegetters are determined by gun time – the first three male and females across the finish line.
