Canberra Fun Run 2021 Postponement Options
In light of the continued Covid-19 restrictions in the ACT and the impact on holding mass participation events, Canberra Fun Run will not be able to proceed as planned for 7 November 2021, and will be postponed to the next available date, 6 November 2022.
Please find the next steps for your entry options below:
Option 1;Transfer my entry to The Canberra Times Marathon Festival 2022 (to roll your entry over please register via this link).
Option 2;Rollover your entry to Canberra Fun Run 2022 (no further action required).
Option 3;I would like a credit note to use at a later date (this will take 2-4 weeks to process).
*If you chose option 1 any add ons you purchased with your 2021 Canberra Fun Run entry (i.e. itab, SMS or postage) will roll over to your 2022entry.
* If you choose option1 you will need to set up a new fundraising page. Then email email@example.com to get your fundraising dollars transferred to the
new account. If you don't select to transfer, your fundraised amount will be paid to your selected charity.
* If you choose option2 any add ons you previously purchased (i.e. itab, SMS or postage) do not choose these again, they will be automatically brought across to your Canberra Fun Run entry.
*If you choose option 3 please apply for the credit note no later than 5pm, Friday 29 October, to avoid a $10 admin fee.
* If you previouslypurchased Canberra Fun Run merchandise you will receive an email within the next week with your options.
The following age limits apply for Canberra Fun Run:
If you register for the event before11:59pm Thursday, 30 September2021 your first name will be printed on your race bib.
Children under four years of age are not required to pay the entry fee, however for safety and insurance reasons you will be required to provide details in the registration process.

Standard Entries End: 11:59pm Friday, 8 October 2021
Last Minute/Online Entries End: 11:59pm Friday, 5 November 2021
Onsite registrations will be available from 5:30am at the Rond Terrace Event Village.
Onsite registrations will be available from 8:00am at the 5K start lie on King George Terrace.
You don’t have to notify Sole Motive (the organiser) if you are unable to run for any reason. However, there are no refunds for non-starters or non-finishers.
We do offer the following:
T&C #15. I agree that there are no refunds, however, I may request a credit note for other SM owned events (minus $10 for admin fees) no later than 5pm, one month prior to the event. After this date, no credit notes will be issued. Credit notes will not be issued when downgrading distances. Credit notes will be valid for SM owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Credit notes are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing.
Change of Distance:
You can change your distance online up untilFriday, 5th November 2021. Use thislink. Refunds/credit notes cannot be issued for the difference in entry fee (if any) when downgrading your distance.
You can register in person at the Event Village at Rond Terrace on Saturday, 6 November between 11am - 4pm.
All entrants to the Half Marathon, 10K and 2K kids run, can enter at the Event Village in Rond Terrace on event day Sunday, 7 November from 5:30am.
Entrants to the 5K can enter at the start line on King George Terrace from 8am.
Public and portable toilets are located at the Event Village as well as at a first aid post. Please refer to relevant distance page for on course toilet and drink station locations.
We strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course. If you do choose to use headphones while running, please ensure that you are still able to hear what is happening around you.
No personal support riders or bike riders within the vicinity of runners are permitted on course. It is the responsibility of each athlete while running to ensure that no bikes are on the course near the runners. Any transgression will result in disqualification from the event.
Prams are permitted in all events – please start at the back of your wave for safety reasons.
All animals are strictly prohibited from entering any part of the course at any time. However, we welcome dogs on leads in the event village.
Racing Wheelchair:If you are in a racing wheelchair please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to secure your spot. The racing wheelchair wave will start approximately 10 minutes before the official Half Marathon start – at 6:20am. Please be at the start line no later than 6.00am
Non Racing Wheelchair:Sole Motive accommodates wheelchairs in our event. If you’re not a Racing Wheelchair Athlete, please start at the back of the final wave in your event.
Due to COVID, there will be no pace groups available in 2021. You can collect from the Runner’s World marquee a pace band to assist with your pacing for the Half Marathon and 10k events.
If restrictions change we will update participants as soon as the information is available.
There are two options to collect your race kit:
Option 1 – Postage:
If you wish to have your race pack posted to you, you must register before 11:59pm, 17 October 2021. Please note, a delivery fee of $8.95 applies.
Option 2 – Pickup at the event site:
All participants can collect their Race Pack at the event site on Saturday 6 November 11am - 4pm.
All Half Marathon, 10K and 2K kids participants can collect their Race Pack on event day Sunday 7 November from 5:30am at Rond Terrace for all.
5K participants will have to collect their Race Pack from their start line on King George Terrace from 8am.
For the purpose of Race Bib collection, please make sure you bring your e-ticket with your Race Bib number on it.
Event upgrades/downgrades can be made online up until Friday 5 November 2021. Use thislink.
Refunds/credit notes cannot be issued for the difference in entry fee (if any) when downgrading your distance.
If you change your distance then you can use your existing race bib for your new distance.
There is ample parking within walking distance to the race Start and Finish Areas. Parking is free in the P zones. Public Parking is available at the following locations:
Half Marathon/10K/2K Start Area, Finish Line and Event Village
ANZAC Park West and CIT Car Parks
5K Start Area
John Gorton Building – Accessed from Parkes Place East or Dorothy Tangney Place.
Treasury Building – Accessed from Parkes Place West or Langton Crescent.
National Library Car Park – Accessed from King Edward Terrace or Parkes Place West.
Mall Road West Parking – Accessed from Parkes Place West.
All attendees to the Canberra Times Fun Run should be aware that it is an offence under the National Land (Road Transport) Ordinance 2014 to park a vehicle on open space in the area where the Canberra Times Fun Run is being held. Open space is any area that is not designed for the movement or parking of motor vehicles, such as grassed areas, footpaths and landscaped areas. The National Capital Authority will be enforcing parking regulations for the duration of this event, and attendees should ensure they park legally to avoid the risk of an infringement being issued to their vehicle.
Sole Motive will provide plenty of bike parking at the event site. Please make sure to bring your own lock to ensure your bike is secure.

Road closures will be announced closer to the race week.
If you are in the Half Marathon or 10K event, bag drop is available at the event village at Rond Terrace. For all participants of the 5K bag drop is available for you at the start line on King George Terrace, a truck will take your bags back to bag drop in the Event Village at Rond Terrace
Please do not leave valuables in your bag. Sole Motive accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Attach the tear-off strip on the bottom of your race bib to your bag. Keep your race bib so that you can collect your bag post-event.
Please note, we have cut down on single-use plastics and will not be providing plastic bags to put belongings in at the Bag Drop Marquee. Please remember to bring your own bag to the event.
Yes, placegetters will be awarded based on gun time rather the adjusted time for each run (net time). If any runner wants to place in this event, they must start in the first wave. Trophies will be presents to participants post-race. Approximately 30mins after the winner of each distance finishes.
The 2K Kids does not award placegetters, all participants receive a medal after completing the event.
All runners in the Half-Marathon, 10k, 5k and 2k Kids races will be timed. If you wish to receive a finishing time all participants must wear their RACE BIB. Your Race Bib contains a disposable timing chip, if you don’t wear your bib, you won’t receive an official time.
Please wear your race bib on the front of your top and ensure it is visible.
Unofficial results are live as you cross the finish line. Official results are available online from 5pm.
Participants who have nominated to receive SMS results and have paid an additional $2 will receive two SMS messages, one as they cross the finish line and then a second text with their official time around midday, and finishers will receive a certificate via email.
Net time is the time the participant crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. This is how results are displayed on the website, and will be used to award aged category places. These times are for participant information only and are not used to determine place getters. Placegetters are determined by gun time – the first three male and females across the finish line.
