The Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF) is a not-for-profit health promotion charity established by Australian marathon champion and Olympian Robert de Castella. The IMF uses running (and walking) to support and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, strengths, and achievements. Since 2010, the IMF has taken over 140 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from no running, to running an international marathon in just 6 months. IMF programs have made a lasting positive impact and continue to reach hundreds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of all ages through community running and school initiatives.
