Registrations
If you register for the event before 11:59pm Wednesday, 19 February 2025your first name will be printed on your race bib.
Note: you must select postage.
Children under four years of age are not required to pay the entry fee in the 22K, 13.5K or 5K races, however for safety and insurance reasons you will be required to provide details in the registration process.
Please note that all participants aged 2-14 in the Kids 2K race are required to register and pay the the 2K entry fee.
Early Bird Entries End: 11:59pm, 28 November 2024

Last Minute/Online Entries End: 30 minutes before race starts on event day.

You don’t have to notify Sole Motive (the organiser) if you are unable to run for any reason. However, there are no refunds for non-starters or non-finishers.
We do offer the following:
Withdrawal from the event: Withdrawals receive an event credit if they are made before 22 February 2025.After this date, no credit notes will be issued. Event credits are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing and valid for Sole Motive owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Refunds will not be issued. When an entrant registers, they agree to the below terms and conditions;
T&C #13. I agree that there are no refunds, however, I may request an event credit for other SM owned events (minus $10 for admin fees) no later than 22 February 2025. After this date, no event credits will be issued. Credit notes will not be issued when downgrading distances. Credit notes will be valid for SM owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Credit notes are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing.

Please ensure you have checked your junk/spam folder for your confirmation email (e-ticket). If you can still not locate it, you can log via Race Roster and choose to resend your registration email.
Yes, please click here and follow the prompts to Transfer to a new participant – this will incur a $10 transfer fee. Name Transfers end 11:59pm March 17. Name Transfers will not be permitted on event weekend
Upgrade your race: Can be made online up until Friday, 21 March 2025. Use this link.
Refunds/credit notes cannot be issued for the difference in entry fee (if any) when downgrading your distance
Onsite entries will be available in the Event Village at Hanging Rock Reserve, Hanging Rock on Saturday 22 March from 7am.
On Course
Public and portable toilets are located at the Event Village as well as a first aid post.Please refer to relevant distance page for on course toilet and drink station locations.
We strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course. If you do choose to use headphones while running, please ensure that you are still able to hear what is happening around you.
No personal support riders or bike riders within the vicinity of runners are permitted on course. It is the responsibility of each athlete while running to ensure that no bikes are on the course near the runners. Any transgression will result in disqualification from the event.
Prams are permitted in all events –please note 50% of each course is off road/on fire trails. It is recommended you use a running pram.
If you are running to lend a helping hand, to someone who is unable to participate without you, then please email an image of their companion card along with the event name to info@solemotive.com
Hanging Rock is part of a National Park, therefore, dogs are prohibited from entering any part of the course and event village at any time.
Racing Wheelchair: The course is not suitable for racing wheelchairs. Non Racing Wheelchair: Sole Motive accommodates wheelchairs in the 5km. The course is on unmade trails and therefore challenging. Please contact Sole Motive if you are thinking of joining us at the event.
Race Bibs
There are three options to collect your race bib:
Option 1 – Postage: If you wish to have your race bib posted to you, you must register before 11:59pm, 19 February 2025. Please note, a delivery fee of $8.95 applies.
Option 2 – Pickup from Sole Motive Retail stores at 148 Little Collins St Melbourne, or 793 Glenferrie Road Hawthorn.
If you wish to “collect from the Sole Motive store”, race bibs will be available for collection from 12:00pm, 10 March 2025 until 5pm 20 March 2025.
Option 3 – Pickup at the event site:
You can collect your race bib at the event site on Saturday 22 March 2025, from 7:00am.
For the purpose of Race Bib collection, you will be provided with a QR code.
Your E-ticket will be sent to you 1-2 weeks prior to race day, if you enter after this date, you will receive your E ticket when you register.
Please have it printed or on your phone to be scanned when you collect your race bib.
Merchandise will not be mailed out, it will be ready for collection at the event.
Race Weekend
Event Guide will be available for download closer to the event.
CAR
Allow 1 hour from Melbourne on the Calder Freeway. Stay on the freeway past both the Macedon and Woodend turn-offs. You will see a sign with a picture of Hanging Rock that indicates turn-off is 5km further on. You must take the ‘Woodend, Lancefield and Romsey’ turn-off from the Calder Freeway.
Parking
The car park will open from 7.00am. The only point of entry to Hanging Rock Racecourse is off South Rock Road. Once you enter Hanging Rock Reserve, please follow the directions from our marshals. Please allow enough time to park and walk to the event site. Car Parking is free for event participants.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Closest train station to the event site is Woodend Train Station.
BIKE
Sole Motive will provide plenty of bike parking at the event site. Please make sure to bring your own lock to ensure your bike is secure.
BUS TRANSFER FROM RICHMOND STATION
Take the hard work out of getting there and let us do the driving for you. We are offering a return bus to the event from Richmond Station for $44.50, and one way trips for $28 each way.
The bus will depart from Richmond Station at 6.15am. The boarding location will be Swan St – outside of Richmond Station and opposite the Precinct Hotel. It will get you to the Event Village at around 7:30am, and will return after the end of the event between 12:15pm and 12:30, arriving back at Richmond Station around 2pm.
Event parking on the day can be accessed through gate 9 via Colwells Road. Please note there is no general access through the main gate on the day.
Those that require accessible parking can access the main gate via S Rock Rd.
Bag drop is available at the event village.
Your race number features a tear-off strip for you to attach to your backpack or clothing bag. Keep your race bib so that you can collect your bag post-event.Please do not leave valuables in your bag. Sole Motive accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items.
Please note: this year we’re cutting down on single-use plastics and will not be providing plastic bags to put belongings in at the Bag Drop Marquee. Please remember to bring your own bag to the event.
Results
Yes, placegetters will be awarded based on gun time rather than the adjusted time for each run (net time). If any runner want to place in this event, they must start in the first wave. Medals will be presented to place getters from the stage approx 30 mins post race.
All runners will be timed. If you wish to receive a finishing time all participants must wear their RACE BIB. Your Race Bib contains a disposable timing chip, if you don’t wear your bib, you won’t receive an official time.
Please wear your race bib on the front of your top and ensure it is visible.
Unofficial results are live as you cross the finish line. Official results are available online from3pm.
Participants who have nominated to receive SMS results and have paid an additional $2.50 will receive two SMS messages, one as they cross the finish line and then a second text will with their official time around midday, and finishers will receive a certificate via email.
Net time is the time the participant crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. This is how results are displayed on the website, and will be used to award aged category places. These times are for participant information only and are not used to determine place getters. Placegetters are determined by gun time – the first three male and females across the finish line.
