    COVID-19 UPDATE

     

    We are committed to providing the safest possible event environment for our participants, volunteers, staff and officials. With the changing situation we ask that you keep up-to-date with the current public exposure sites and advice on how to act if you have been in these locations.

     

    The event is proceeding as planned, in-line with government and health authority guidelines. We will continue to update participants if there are any changes as we get closer to the event.

    What happens if the event is postponed or cancelled due to covid-19

     

    COVID Postponement terms: Registered participants who entered after 20 January 2021, for events that are postponed due to COVID-19 by the state or local health authorities are automatically transferred to the rescheduled date. For those that the new date does not work, we will allow deferrals to the event in the following year.

     

    COVID Cancellation terms: Registered participants who entered after 20 January 2021, for events that are cancelled due to COVID-19 by the state or local health authorities, participants will have the options of either; Transfer to another Sole Motive race within the next 12 months, or refund of your Registration Fees minus administration fee of 10%. Please note, merchant booking fees on the online transaction are non-refundable.

     

    For those who entered before 5 September 2020, for events that are postponed or cancelled due to COVID-19 by the state or local health authorities are automatically transferred to the rescheduled date. For those that the new date does not work, we will allow deferrals to the event in the following year no cancellation, credit note, transfer.

     

    I CAN NO LONGER PARTICIPATE - WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

     

    You don’t have to notify Sole Motive (the organiser) if you are unable to run for any reason. However, there are no refunds for non-starters or non-finishers.

    We do offer the following:

    Withdrawals receive a credit note if they are made before 9 April 2021. An admin fee of $10 will apply. After this date, no credit notes will be issued. Credit notes are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing and valid for Sole Motive owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Refunds will not be issued. When an entrant registers, they agree to the below terms and conditions;

     

    T&C 13. I agree that there are no refunds, however, I may request a credit note for other Sole Motive owned events - (minus $10 for admin fees) – no later than 9 April 2021.

    Will there be first aid at the Finish Line?

     

    First aid stations will be available on course and at the finish line. There will be a first aid post at the finish line and a mobile bike team available on course.

     

    Will there be on day entries the day before the event or on the morning of the event?

     

    On day entries will be available on site from 7am.

    Age Limits

     

    The following age limits apply for each distance at the Run The Rock:

     

    22km – Participants must be 16 years + on race day

    10km – All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a guardian. The child’s guardian must be entered in the event.

    5km – All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a guardian. The child’s guardian must be entered in the event

    2km -All entrants under the age of 5 must be accompanied by a non registered parent/guardian for the entire duration of the race.

     

    Race Pack Postage and Collection

     

    There are two options to collect your race kit:

     

    Option 1 –Postage: If you wish to have your race pack posted to you, you must register before 11:59pm, 24 March 2021. Please note, a delivery fee of $8.95 applies.

     

    Option 2 – Pickup at the event site:If you registered after 11:59pm, 24 March 2021 you must collect your Race Pack at the event site on Saturday 17 April, 7am.

     

    What to expect on race day

     

    Snap the picturesque views of Mount Macedon in the distance and keep and eye out for kangaroos as you race along the course. The event village will offer a coffee cart, a delicious BBQ and food truck for you to enjoy pre or post run. You can also take on the climb at Hanging Rock and enjoy the spectacular views at the top.

     

    Toilets

     

    Toilets are located at the Event Village, both public and portable. The accessible public toilets are also located within 100m of the Event Village. There is a toilet available on course for the 22K course at the 9K & 18K mark and a toilet available on course for the 13.5K course at the 9K mark.

     

    ARE PRAMS ALLOWED ON THE COURSE

     

    Prams will be allowed on the course, however, we recommend you have an all-terrain pram, as the course is narrow and quite rough. Children must be properly strapped in at all times.

     

    Drink Stations

     

    Will be available at the following. These will be run according to current guidelines; however we encourage participants to be self-sufficient. (Using fuel belts, hydration packs etc). All participants will be given a bottle of water to take at the finish line.

     

    22K Drink stations:

    4K, 6K, 9K, 12K, 15K, 18K

    4K, 6K, 8K, 11K

    Will there be an awards ceremony at the end of the event and how will the top 3 place getters be awarded?

     

    Due to the rolling starts, place getters will not be awarded based on gun time but rather the adjusted time for each run (net time). Due to current restrictions there will be no presentations, the top 3 place getters for male and female, for each distance, will receive a medal. All kids will get a medal in the 2K kids run. Medals will be sent to participants post-event.

     

    Medals

     

    A branded Run The Rock medal for the 22K, 13.5K & 5K can be purchased at an additional fee of $5. All 2K kids participants will receive a finisher medal.

     

    Getting there by Car

     

    Allow 1 hour from Melbourne on the Calder Freeway. Stay on the freeway past both the Macedon and Woodend turn-offs. You will see a sign with a picture of Hanging Rock that indicates turn-off is 5km further on. You must take the ‘Woodend, Lancefield and Romsey’ turn-off from the Calder Freeway.

     

    Parking

    The car park will open from 7.00am. The only point of entry to Hanging Rock Racecourse is off South Rock Road. Once you enter Hanging Rock Reserve, please follow the directions from our marshals. Please allow enough time to park and walk to the event site.
