    HOT WEATHER PLAN

    Due to the hot weather conditions today we have made some adjustments to support race participants. Please read the information below to prepare for your race:

     

    The Kids 2.2K will be shortened from two laps to one lap

    In the best interest of our younger participants the kids' race will be shortened to one lap, which is approximately 1.1km. All children will still receive a medal.

     

    Changing your race distance
    Participants in the 9.5K event can downgrade to the 5.5K event up until 30 min before race start via this link (log in and select "transfer").
     
    If you change your distance, you can use your existing race bib for the new event. Simply start in one of the designated waves at 6:00PM or 6:15PM. The timing system will automatically record the distance you complete.
     
    Please note: Refunds or credit notes will not be issued for any difference in entry fees when downgrading your distance.
     
    Delayed start times
    Depending on the temperatures we may make the decision to delay the start times 15-30 minutes. Please listen to instructions in the Event Village and at the Start line for more information.
     
    Water stations
    We've added additional water stations on course:
    5.5k course: at 1.5km, 2.8km, 4km and finish line (water and electrolyte)
    9.5k course: at 1.5km, 4km, 5.4km, 6.8km, 8km and finish line (water and electrolyte)
    Kids 2.2K: at 800m and 1.6km and finish line.
     
    Event Village
    We have added a refreshing misting tent near the finish line from 4:00PM, and ice baths from 6:00PM.
     
    Summer Running Tips
    - Stay hydrated by drinking lots of fluid both before, during and after the race
    - Wear light, breathable clothing and your Portsea Twilight cap
    - Try to stay out of the sun as much as possible during the day before the race
     
    We can't see you at the start line!
