REGISTRATIONS
The following age limits apply for the Canberra Times Marathon Festival:
If you register for the event before11:59pm Thursday, 29 January 2026 your first name will be printed on your race bib. You must have selected postage to get your name on your bib.
Children under four years of age are not required to pay the entry fee, however for safety and insurance reasons you will be required to provide details in the registration process.
Last Minute/Online Entries Ends 30 min before race start
You can register in person at the Event Village at John Dunmore Lang Place on Friday 10 April between 12pm - 6pm, Saturday 11 April between 6am - 4pm and on Sunday 12 April from 5am.

You don’t have to notify Sole Motive (the organiser) if you are unable to run for any reason. However, there are no refunds for non-starters or non-finishers.
We do offer the following:
T&C #15. I agree that there are no refunds, however, I may request an event credit for other SM owned events (minus $12.50 for admin fees) no later than 5pm, one month prior to the event. After this date, no event credits will be issued. Event credits will not be issued when downgrading distances. Event credits will be valid for SM owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Event credits are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing.
Change of Distance:
You can change your distance online up until Friday, 10th April 2026.

Yes, please click here and follow the prompts to Transfer to a new participant – this will incur a $10 transfer fee. Name Transfers end 11:59pm 10 April 2026. Name Transfers will not be permitted on event weekend.

RACE BIBS
There are two options to collect your race bib:
Option 1 – Postage:
If you wish to have your race bib posted to you, you must register before 11:59pm, 22 March 2026. Please note, a delivery fee of $8.95 applies.
Option 2 – Pickup at the event site:
All participants can collect their Race Bib at the event site on:
Friday 10 April 1:00pm - 6:00pm,
Saturday 11 April 6:00am - 4:00pm and,
Sunday 12 April from 5:00am.
All merchandise ordered before 11:59 pm Thursday 26 March 2026 will be mailed out.
If you've ordered more than one item, please note that they will be shipped separately, so keep an eye out for them.
After this date all merchandise will be available at the event site from the Sole Motive Race Ready Store:
Friday 10 April: 2pm - 6pm
Saturday 11 April: 6am - 4pm
Sunday 12 April: from 5am.
RESULTS
Yes, finisher t-shirts will be given to TCS Marathon (42.2K) finishers only.
Yes, placegetters will be awarded based on gun time rather than the adjusted time for each run (net time). If any runner wants to place in this event, they must start in the first wave. Trophies will be presented to participants post-race, see times below:
Saturday, 11 April:
10K - 8:00am
5K - 9:00am
Sunday, 12 April:
Half Marathon - 9:55am
Marathon - 9:40am

The Kids Dash event does not award placegetters, all participants will receive a medal at the completion of the event.
Monetary prizes: for Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Trophies: for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5.4k
Age Category medals:for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female posted after event
*Racing wheelchair placegetters will be presented with a medal on race day, and a trophy will be posted to them after the event.

TCS Marathon (42.2K):
Male - 1st $2000, 2nd $1000, 3rd $750
Female - 1st $2000, 2nd $1000, 3rd $750
Half Marathon (21.1K):
Male - 1st $1000, 2nd $500, 3rd $250
Female - 1st $1000, 2nd $500, 3rd $250
Runner's World 10K:
Male - 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $150
Female - 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $150
All runners in the Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10k, 5k and 2k kids races will be timed. If you wish to receive a finishing time all participants must wear their RACE BIB. Your Race Bib contains a disposable timing chip, if you don’t wear your bib, you won’t receive an official time.
Please wear your race bib on the front of your top and ensure it is visible.
Unofficial results are live as you cross the finish line. Official results will be available on the website Tuesday 14 April.
Participants who have nominated to receive SMS results and have paid an additional $2.50 will receive two SMS messages, one as they cross the finish line and then a second text with their official time around 3pm, and finishers will receive a certificate via email.
Net time is the time the participant crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. This is how results are displayed on the website, and will be used to award aged category places. These times are for participant information only and are not used to determine place getters. Placegetters are determined by gun time – the first three male and females across the finish line.
ON COURSE
Saturday, 11 April 2025: All Runner's World 10K, Charterpoint 5K, and Kids Dash participants must have crossed the finish line by 10:00AM.
Sunday, 12 April 2025: All TCS Marathon and Half Marathon participants must have crossed the finish line by 2:00PM.
Public and portable toilets are located at the Event Village as well as at a first aid post. Please refer to relevant distance page for on course toilet and drink station locations.
We have 65 toilets located at Parkes West Lawn which is on the way to the start line.
Marathon participants are able to utilise the personal refreshment drop off. If you require personal refreshments throughout your race you can drop off your refreshments at the Info Marquee on Saturday 11 April between 8am - 2pm.

We strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course. If you do choose to use headphones while running, please ensure that you are still able to hear what is happening around you.
No personal support riders or bike riders within the vicinity of runners are permitted on course. It is the responsibility of each athlete while running to ensure that no bikes are on the course near the runners. Any transgression will result in disqualification from the event.
Prams are permitted in all events – please start at the back of your wave for safety reasons.
If you are running to lend a helping hand, to someone who is unable to participate without you, then please email an image of their companion card along with the event name to info@solemotive.com
All animals are strictly prohibited from entering any part of the course at any time. However, we welcome dogs on leads in the event village.
Racing Wheelchair: If you are in a racing wheelchair please contact timing@solemotive.com to secure your spot. The racing wheelchair wave will start approximately 10 minutes before the official start of the event.
Non Racing Wheelchair: Sole Motive accommodates wheelchairs in our event. If you’re not a Racing Wheelchair Athlete, please start at the back of the final wave in your event.
Yes! We are excited to have pacers at The Canberra Times Marathon Festival. Sole Motive has experienced runners that will pace you to come in around your goal time.
For ease of visibility, Pacers will have the pace on their bib on their back and a flag above their head with their pace time.
Please see the table below on the paces that are available and where the pacers can be found at the start line. They will start their watches and pace you once you have crossed the start line – this is known as net time.
To carry out the pace leader role you’ll need to be able to comfortably run the pace you’ve nominated for.
You also need to be prepared to offer encouragement and motivate runners in your pack.
Sole Motive will cover the costs of entry fees for all pacers.

Bag drop is available in the Event Village.
Your race number features a tear-off strip for you to attach to your backpack or clothing bag. Do not leave any valuables in your bag as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.
Please note, we have cut down on single-use plastics and will not be providing plastic bags to put belongings in at the Bag Drop Marquee. Please remember to bring your own bag to the event.
